Liz Jarvis MP shares residents ‘deep concerns’ over 245 home planning application in Fair Oak

10 Dec 2025

Liz Jarvis, Liberal Democrat MP for Eastleigh, has written to residents expressing concern about a 245-home planning application to the south of Mortimers Lane in Fair Oak.

In 2024, Eastleigh Borough Council launched a Local Plan consultation which is ongoing. Ms Jarvis called the developer’s attempt to gain planning approval before the Local Plan is completed ‘completely wrong’. She also raised concerns about the limited access to public transportation.

Ms Jarvis commented:

“My constituents have written to me to express their dismay that this plan has been bought back by a developer, despite the Planning Inspector previous raising concerns about the site. A scheme of this nature is entirely in the wrong place.

“We must always strike a balance between building the homes our communities need, but also ensuring residents are consulted and get to have their say. Attempts by a developer to push this through before the Local Plan has been reviewed is a transparent attempt to ignore the views of Fair Oak’s residents.”
