Ms Jarvis, who has been campaigning on this issue, calling on Hampshire County Council to reverse their cuts to free bus travel for disabled users, and who raised the issue with transport ministers in the House of Commons, commented:

“It was deeply unfair that disabled people were restricted on when they could travel so I’m delighted that the Government has listened and is scrapping their ridiculous policy. While I wish the changes could be brought in sooner it is good news for my disabled constituents and people across Hampshire who should be able to travel whenever they need to.”

The Government has announced that changes will be brought in next April.
