Liz Jarvis MP supports constituent’s fight for sepsis research
Liz Jarvis, the Member of Parliament for Eastleigh, welcomed her constituent Dr Nveed Chaudhary, the founder of the Jibraan Chaudhary Sepsis Research (JCSR) Foundation to Parliament today. Dr Nveed’s son, Jibraan, tragically lost his lift to sepsis during chemotherapy treatment for leukaemia.
Liz Jarvis, Liberal Democrat MP for Eastleigh, said:
“I was very pleased to welcome Nveed to Parliament and continue to show my support to JCSR, which is doing valuable work to encourage greater research into sepsis for those suffering with cancer.
“Lives are being lost due to preventable factors during treatment for blood cancer and I am pushing for the Government to take urgent action to address this issue.”
The charity’s mission is to raise awareness of neutropenic sepsis, a preventable and under-recognised complication of blood cancer treatment and to ensure that preventing and managing infection in these patients becomes a priority for UK research and health policy.
