Liz Jarvis MP says Southern Water “cannot continue in this failing state” with company requiring “over 400” infrastructure improvements

The Liberal Democrat MP for Eastleigh Liz Jarvis has said that Southern Water “just cannot continue” in its current state, after it was revealed that the company requires “over 400” improvements.

Commenting, Liz Jarvis MP said:

“This is yet another example of Southern Water perpetually letting people down in Eastleigh. My constituents are paying high bills for second-rate services, all whilst filthy sewage is pumped into our precious waterways like the River Itchen.

“The Minister’s answer also revealed how insufficient the company’s infrastructure is. It just cannot continue in this failing state.

“Private companies have failed in their duty, putting profit over customers. The Government needs to finally take action by turning Southern Water into a Public Benefit Company.”
