Eastleigh MP secures meeting with Minister to discuss support for local businesses
Member of Parliament for Eastleigh, Liz Jarvis, has secured a meeting with Minister of State for Trade Policy, Chris Bryant MP, to discuss delays to in Export Licence turnaround times after visiting Ionoptika, a Chandler’s Ford business that has led pioneering work in the development and manufacturing of ion beam technology.
Ms Jarvis met with the award-winning team from Ionoptika, whose technology is being used in research into breast cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and other scientific research at institutions including Cambridge and Harvard Universities.
The company recently won a Business Innovation Award for the development of Q-One, a new generation of focused ion beam instrumentation, providing single atom through to high-dose nanoscale advanced materials engineering for photonic and quantum technologies.
